Timothy Goropevsek has been part of the steering committee for CDI and became its Executive Editor on July 7, 2023. He previously served as the Chief Communications Officer of the World Evangelical Alliance for more than eleven years. Originally from Switzerland, he studied theology and journalism at Olivet University in the United States and is currently completing his PhD in Global Theology with a focus on effective media engagement. He has written articles that have been published in Christian newspapers and magazines in Europe and the United States and has authored a book chapter titled “The Cultural Mountain of Media: A Global Strategy to Turn the Tide” for Half-way Up the Mountain: Restoring God’s Purpose in this Chaotic World. He also serves as Chief Communications Officer for the World Evangelical Center.

Lausanne invites feedback to Seoul Statement, Theology Working Group & leadership to 'discern the process forward'

As the Fourth Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization is coming to a close, the Lausanne leadership sent a note to the more than 5,000 participants inviting them to provide feedback to the Seoul Statement that had been published at the beginning of the event. The comments will be evaluated by the Theology Working Group and senior leadership who will decide next steps in the coming weeks, according to a Lausanne spokesperson.

Lausanne apology for speaker remarks on Israel-Gaza, dispensational eschatology risks stirring greater controversy

On Wednesday, September 25, the Lausanne Movement issued an official apology for remarks by Ruth Padilla DeBorst during a Monday evening session where she spoke about the war in Gaza and blamed certain people for using dispensational eschatology as an excuse for violence. The apology inadvertently created further controversy, however, as some questioned why these but not other comments were deemed offensive and called on participants of such global events to behave like “grown-ups”

Lausanne edits Seoul Statement’s paragraphs on homosexuality, says there may be more ‘non-substantive changes’
