We live in an era of unprecedented human migration, but other species, especially birds and butterflies, migrate vast distances regularly without hindrance. Whether welcoming humans or non-humans into our contexts, the bible maintains that we are called to create a welcoming home for all.
Are the chains that bind you holding you back from greater potential or holding you firm in loving embrace? Until we move we tend not to notice that we even have chains. The beginning of a new year is an opportune time to test whether we should stay comfortably where we are or if we need to rattle our chains to grow into who God intends us to be in Christ.

Likewise, we can bring the light into the darkness of our worlds by the smallest of loving merciful actions if we have Christ in us, the hope of glory. Let us recommit to sharing this light into the new year.
