Swiss evangelicals lambast 'Tesla of death' invention for assisted suicide: 'life is a gift from God'

A leading evangelical body in Switzerland has lambasted the creation of the Sarco pod as the latest invention to assist people choosing to die – as the first person to use the suicide chamber is reported missing after concerns emerged about her mental health. SEA spokeswoman Daniela Baumann said. “For us, man is the administrator and not the owner of life: life is a gift from God and man has no right of disposal over it.”

  • Why celebrate in such unsettling times?

For the fourth time since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, we are celebrating the Word of God becoming flesh as angels proclaimed peace on earth. So where is the peace? • A war on faith: a Ukrainian widow's resilience exposes Russian Orthodoxy's tyranny

Oleksandra was severely wounded and her immediate family killed in an attack on Kyiv while they lay sleeping. Through her rehabilitation she learned that true faith is the source of courage, resilience, and purpose. Meanwhile, leaders of the Russian Orthodox church are weaponizing their faith in support of the war, restricting religious freedom, and promoting a false narrative to the rest of the world.

  • We must engage enemies Jesus' way

These days we are constantly being asked to identify our enemies and stand up against them. That is the way of the world, not the way of Jesus. The Jews were expecting their enemies to be vanquished by the Messiah, yet Jesus offered the way of reconciliation through self-giving love. We must follow Jesus.
