Conseil National des Évangéliques de France (CNEF), the leading evangelical alliance in France, has called upon evangelical leaders to coordinate worship meetings in the country on October 5, 2025.

In a press release, CNEF stated its main objective for the worship day as simply celebrating Jesus Christ and bearing witness to the good news about Him. It is hoped the event will be complemented with various concerts, youth gatherings and evangelism activities.

“We also want to deepen the unity of evangelical Protestants in France, to manifest their identity and their witness to all and to promote relationships and collaborations to make people want to continue working together,” added the CNEF statement.

The invitation has been issued to all CNEF affiliated evangelical protestant churches, also similar non-affiliated churches, which are members of a departmental committee or a local section of the CNEF.

“The CNEF proposes to the 90 Departmental Committees to join this dynamic and to mobilize to organize this unprecedented event by worshipping God and manifesting the Gospel locally and throughout France, in deed and word,” stated CNEF.

“Together, evangelical protestants of all ages, of all origins, of all denominations, let us celebrate Jesus Christ and give Him all the glory, let us praise Him, let us pray to Him, let us adore Him together!”

In calling for the worship day, the CNEF referenced Jesus' prayer for the unity of his Church in John 17:20-23: "I pray [...] that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one — I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”

The worship day initiative follows two momentums for CNEF in the past year with the Paris Olympics leading to some evangelistic efforts and leaders from CNEF felt refreshed for gospel witness after attending Lausanne 4 in Korea.

In October, CNEF President Erwan Cloarec told Christian Daily International that the experience of Lausanne 4 has motivated French evangelicals in their gospel work and brought a larger awareness of missional contexts happening in other parts of the world.

“The sixty or so participants from the French delegation at Lausanne 4 came away with a refreshed vision for mission in France and a strong desire to live out concrete and daring partnerships between us,” said Cloarec. “For many, the realization that God works all over the world was a profound encouragement.”
