  In Argentina, two out of three children under the age of 14 live in poverty; evangelical churches and ministries are responding

  Indigence has quadrupled in the last four years, and poverty now affects 24.9 million Argentines, according to the latest data. The National Institute of Statistics and Census (Indec) revealed this Thursday that more than half of Argentinians are poor. Especially concerning are those under 14 years of age, where two out of three live in poverty and do not receive the four meals necessary for healthy nutrition, according to the first survey conducted since Javier Milei became president.

  Churches can offer a sanctuary as youth increasingly struggle with mental health issues

  The church has a key role in providing safe spaces for young people and adults struggling with their mental health, says a Christian support ministry based in Canada. Sanctuary Mental Health Ministries, headquartered in Vancouver but with a branch in the U.K, is running a mental health awareness campaign this month (October), to complement Mental Illness Awareness Week in Canada and the U.S.  from Oct. 6 to 12, and World Mental Health  Day on Oct. 10.
